If I got to choose whether to live forever and do nothing special or to live for a moment and do something that changes the world I would rather to live for an moment. In the book The Odyssey ,Odysseus is not a god so he isn't immortal and he won't live forever. But he still made a huge differance in the world. He showed he was brave and strong that he went to help rescue Helen risking his life. Then when he returned he killed the people wanting to marry Penelope. People in places he went knew who he was because he made a big differance. So, even thought he was mortal people respected him and knew him all over becasue of what he did. But the gods that were immortal got bored and would try to stop him on his trip. Such as Poseiden, even though he was mad at Odysseus he probually didn't have to try so hard to get revenge that almost killed him. Also Athena seemed to do things for no reason too. A time was when he let Telemachos go to look for Odysseus, because it was dangerous since the people wanting to marry Penelope wanted to kill him especially when he returned from him trip. Another example is that whenever he reached an island all the girls liked him because they haven't seen a guy in so long and they are immortal. So, I think it would get boring if you were immortal. Especially if all of the people you knew were mortal you would always need to make new friends and you couldn't keep them forever.
