Leaders should be held at higher expectations. As citizens we have the responsibility to elect someone who we believe we can trust to do their job and if that person we elected doesn't meet expectations then they need to be replaced. I feel that if someone makes mistakes in their personal life then they could make a mistake in government and they either need to fix the problem or leave.Everyone has the right to have a private life and it should be personal to that person. The problem is when the leader breaks the law like anyone else could. No matter who you are, in America there's laws and everyone is under the same amount of jurisdiction. I think that if someone cant control themselves in their private life how can we as citizens trust them as leaders? Were all under the same laws but leaders have a lot of responsibility and when that responsibility isn't met then they should be punished as if they were a regular person. Its different if some worker at McDonald's did the same thing as Spitzer it wouldn't be as bad because not as many people are counting on him to be a leader and his responsibility is less than Spitzers.I think that teachers should only take a little consideration of life home to decide how to treat students in class. If a student has a hard time because his father just died then the teacher should treat the student with a little more care but not to the point that it makes the student uncomfortable. As for grades, a teacher cant change or give a grade that a child doesn't deserve. I think that the teacher can give the student more opportunities to get a higher grade like offering extra credit but besides that when it comes to grades, you get the grade you deserve. Death effectes people of all ages and if someone who's dad just died should be taken a little more mercifully then someone else who has a great life at home. The teacher should give the student some leeway but keep it within limits. Tell the student that he has been given extra time to get work done but if its no completd before this date then he gets a bad grade.
