melissa's views on heroes and leaders[ finished now!]

I think that we shouldn't necessarily hold public figures with a higher level of expectations then we would ourselves but they are representing many citizens and are expected to be responsible and loyal to their families and citizens. Then again, wouldn't you expect these characteristics out of an average citizen? A person has to set fair if not high expectations of of themsleves and others in order to keep achieving and becoming a better person.
Leaders and heroes should have private lives. Although if they do something stupid in their private lives of course they have to know that it relects on how people view them politically [ as in Spitzers situatuion]. What happens in a public figure's life deffinately should be considered when viweing that person. It shows who they really are as a person, although people do make mistakes it shows a willingness to change by ficing their mistakes. Spitzer has had an affair more then once and obviously wouldn't have stopped unless being caught.[ to finish later]
