Cliques

unfortunately cliques play a far too important role in socilizing. it tends to determine who we can be friends, how we dress, so on and so forth. i don't think i am in a clique because if you are in a clique you tend to spend time with 1 single group of friends and i feel fortunate that i have a veriaty of friends. a lot of them if they only stayed in their clique or i only stayed in mine would never have even made eyecontact with each other let alone become friends. i like to think that i dont judge people by the clique that they are in. i like to see how people act around me and around others to judge what they are really like, but if there is something i dont know about them i insert pieces of information that go along with the steriotype i associate them with. this is something i really want to stop doing but unfortunately i cant help it sometimes but i think i do better then others who will take only one thing they know about someone like that they are smart of that they are good looking and make and entire pesonality from that one quality and never even try to get to know them better. so i feel that steroetyping is never a good thing. humans are too different to be put in one all encompassing lable, and after being labled many people will try to fit their labble even if it is not what they are really like.

i think that corage is involved with every day living because that is what allows us to be different, to be ourselves, to breake out of a lable or clique. i luckily ahve a lot of very tollerent friends who dont judge me for my religion or politiclal stance (stephen colbert will always be my president, enven if he is out of the race). but still their are people who do judge me, i dont really know what they are judging me on, but these people, who normally dont like me, are the sort of people that i would never want to hang around with or be friends with, so i could really care less about what they think of me.

i have immence respect for those who don't follow the croud just to follow the crowd. it shows that they have a lot of courage. my role model is my sister Katy for these reasons. she never follows the crowd, and when she was in high school she faced a lot of persicution for it.
