This quote means to me that all people are connected like stanzas in a poem, a verse of a song, or a piece in a puzzle. All of them are different, and some of them look or sound better then others, but by themselves they are meaningless. It is only when they are pieced together that they are significant.
I believe that everyone has the ability to shape their verse to decide how they fit in with others' and how they will contribute to the over all poem. well everyone includes me so this is what i want my verse to be like (i will write it regularly now and probably make it poetic later). i want to be able to express myself and make people think, to ponder, to question, to laugh, to enjoy life. how i intend to do this i still dont know exactly. Writing, singing, acting i dont care i love all of them, prefferably something that pays fairly well because i cant make people think if i am dead or lying in a gutter. i also like to be noticed. i know it sounds self centered but what can i say, i have alwaysed enjoyed the limelight. i also want to help spread tolorence because i hate those who are intollorent of others for no good reason (yay hypocracy!).
Langston Hughes once wrote a poem entitled Moto (see bottom of post) . this was his verse in the poem. i hope that i will be able to phrase mine as articulately and sesinktly as he does but for now i will have to be a bit wordy.
Motto
I play it cool
And dig all jive.
That’s the reason
I stay alive.
My motto,
As I live and learn,
is:
Dig And Be Dug
In Return.
