Picasso, Pioneer of the Artistic Revolution

To many, Pablo Picasso is no more than a name, a group of words associated with an unfamiliar and hard-to-understand art form. But Picasso was more than just a painter, and more than just a poster-boy for abstract artistic expression. His mediums and methods were just as numerous as the methods and styles he invented and inspired. Indeed, his constant pushing of the envelope and constant creation of controversy made him a simply revolutionary artist of the 20th century. In addition to creating many appealing and interesting works, the artistic pioneer also inspired, catalyzed, developed, and co-created several new artistic techniques. His undeniable brilliance and creativity enabled him to rise to be one of the few visual artists ever to be extensively popular and celebrated while still alive. Pablo Picasso’s contributions to art indelibly changed the way people think of art, and permanently changed the course of modern art’s development.
