In Drillbit Taylor, there were three boys going to their first day of high school and finally trying to be cool. They did everything that they could to look there best and make the other kids like them. On the first day of school the new kids noticed a small kid being beat up, picked on, and humiliated in front of the whole school. The new kids wanted to be cool and the kids new if they helped this poor little kid that it would be social suicide, but they helped him anyway because they knew that it was the right thing to do. You would think that they would be fine, but no. Now those mean bad kids hated them and did every thing they could to pick on them and intimidate them. The boys tried to hire a bodyguard for protection, but all they could afford was Drillbit Taylor, who in fact had no bodyguard experience, and was a hobo living on the streets. At first, Drillbit just wanted to get money from the kids, but eventually they grew closer and they felt like family. Because I cannot write the whole movie right now I will tell you the rest in a short version. So then the kids find out who Drillbit really is and get very mad and end up hating him. But when the three kids go to fight those bad kids and to stand up for themselves, they get beat up really bad. But wait! That’s where Drillbit Taylor jumps in and saves them. The boys and Drillbit are forever friends. The end.
In conclusion, the kids had no idea that they would gain so many new friends for standing up for them or themselves. I think that it is very important to stand up for kids who are getting picked on because it will be good for you in the long run. In addition to that I think that it is important to stand up for yourself because if you don’t you will feel bad about you self and you won’t have any respect for yourself. If you don’t have respect for yourself, then nobody else will.
