To me the earth is a very controversial subject. There is no doubt that we are making an effort to fix our mistakes, and as humans use more eco/energy efficient products. These efforts need to be supported by not just the U.S., but the entire world. The nation who is guiltier of this crime than we are, a nation whose factories give off emmisions, and whose mines pollute like there is no tomorrow. China needs to be a part of this effort as much as anyone, but as their economic growth continues, the less they care about the envirornment, and the more they care about the continued growth. Another topic which greatly angers me is the rising gas prices. The prices I believe are the root of all of the soaring prices in grocery products. To transport the goods it requires large quantities of transportation services, mainly 18 wheeled trucks. These trucks use ridiculous amounts of gasoline, therefore costing the company more money on gasoline. With this increase in price for gasoline the company has to charge the manufacturer or farmer more to transport his goods, and the farmer has to charge the customers more for the product. This to me is a domino effect, and can only be fixed by either coming up with solutions for alternative fuels, or negotiating with the oil companies to set regulations on the prices for oil.
