The Fight for Affection

I honestly don't think that anyone else's opinion should affect how you act, dress, talk, and such. Their words shouldn't matter. I would much rather have my approval than anyone elses. And sure it won't be easy to stand up for something you believe in/yourself but you should try. Sure, people might dislike you and talk about you but wouldn't the satisfaction you get for doing what's right subside over all of that crap? Everyone wants to fit in and have everyone accept them for who they are, but that doesn't always happen. But if that means not being true to who you are and going along with stupid fads, you're letting yourself down. If you value what others have to say more than you value yourself, you can be sucked into some stupid stuff. Drugs, clothing fads, friends you don't really like, lieing to your parents. It could all happen if you don't listen to who you are and pay attention to what everyone else thinks. It could really mess you up. For real though, stand up for what you believe in. You'll regret it if you don't. Listen to who you are and don't hold back the true you. People will love you no matter what.
